Capability Statement & Marketing Workshop

Your capability statement is often your business’s first introduction to a government buyer—make it count.

Government marketing is different from commercial marketing. Contracting officers, small business specialists, prime contractors, and agency buyers need to quickly understand what your company does, what sets you apart, and why your business is qualified to perform.

In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how to develop a clear, professional, and government-focused capability statement and use it as part of a broader government marketing strategy.

We’ll discuss the information government buyers expect to see, how to communicate your company’s differentiators, and how to tailor your messaging for specific agencies and opportunities. Participants will also learn strategies for marketing to federal, state, local, and defense-sector customers.

Topics include:

  • The purpose of a government capability statement
  • Essential elements of an effective capability statement
  • Identifying and communicating your core competencies
  • Developing meaningful differentiators
  • Using NAICS codes, certifications, past performance, and contract vehicles effectively
  • Researching and targeting government customers
  • Marketing to contracting officers, small business specialists, and prime contractors
  • Adapting your capability statement for different agencies and opportunities

Who should attend: Businesses currently pursuing government contracts or preparing to market their products and services to public-sector buyers.
