HUBZone Certification Overview

May 20 10:00 am — 11:00 am

If your business is located in one of these special areas, you might be eligible for a federal certification that can help you win government contracts. Hint: Most of rural Northern California is eligible!

The Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) certification is for businesses located in regions that have not benefitted from much federal contract spending in the past. Getting HUBZone certified makes your business eligible to compete for special set-aside contracts. It also gives you preferential consideration in full and open competition. What’s more is that the federal government mandates at least 3% of Small Business contracting dollars be awarded to certified HUBZone firms. This goal often goes unmet, meaning agencies are often looking for HUBZone vendors.

But the eligibility requirements can be more complex than they appear and the application can be demanding. Join us for this free webinar to explore the benefits of the HUBZone certification, review the eligibility criteria, and get an overview of the application process.

Webinar topics include:

  • SBA District Director keynote
  • Benefits and regulations of the program
  • How to determine eligibility
  • Overview of the application process

View the SBA’s HUBZone map to determine whether your business is located in a HUBZone.
