Port of Oakland Local Business Certification & Turner Prequalification

Turner Construction and Port of Oakland will be holding an in-person prequalification workshop and local business certification workshop.

The Turner prequalification process is for Prime Trade contractors that plan on contracting directly with Turner Construction.  Turner Construction is signatory to the Carpenters and Laborers Union. Any scope of work that fall under the Carpenters and Laborers union will need to be performed by Trade Contractors that are signatory to the aforementioned Union. The following do not need to go through the prequalification process: Vendors, Suppliers, Engineers, Architects, or consultants.

For an impactful session, you will need the documents listed below for the Turner Prequalification. Without these documents with you, you will not be able to complete the Turner prequalification.

  • W-9
  • Financial statements for 2022, 2021, and 2020
  • Proof of any special business classification (ie. MBE, WBE, DBE, DVBE, SBE, VSBE, LBE, etc.)
  • Bonding Capacity
  • Sample insurance certificate
  • Safety (Safety Program, Experience Modification Rate)
  • Experience
  • Licenses

Please Note: You will need to bring a laptop to submit the prequalification and certification
