SAM.gov Registration & Entity Validation

A successful federal contracting journey starts with a complete and accurate SAM.gov registration.

The System for Award Management (SAM.gov) is the federal government’s primary system for businesses seeking to compete for federal contracts and certain assistance opportunities. The registration and entity validation process can be confusing, and errors can delay your ability to pursue opportunities.

This webinar will walk participants through the SAM.gov registration process, from preparing the information you’ll need to understanding entity validation, Unique Entity IDs (UEIs), representations and certifications, and maintaining an active registration.

Participants will also learn how SAM.gov connects to the broader federal contracting process and what steps to consider after registration, including resources available to businesses interested in Department of Defense opportunities.

Topics include:

  • Understanding SAM.gov and when registration is required
  • Obtaining and managing your Unique Entity ID (UEI)
  • Navigating entity validation
  • Information and documentation to prepare before registering
  • Common registration mistakes and how to avoid them
  • Representations and certifications
  • Maintaining and renewing your SAM.gov registration
  • Next steps after becoming registered

Who should attend: Businesses preparing to register in SAM.gov, businesses experiencing registration or validation challenges, and existing federal contractors who want to better understand their SAM.gov responsibilities.

Important: SAM.gov registration is free. NorCal APEX provides no-cost assistance to eligible businesses navigating the federal registration process.
